PostHeaderIcon Unlocking Your LG CU720 Shine

DISCLAIMER: I did not use any sort of unlocking software to obtain my unlock code, I simply called customer service and asked them. I do not recommend paying for an unlock code, nor downloading a program that could easily corrupt your computer and/or phone. Customer service will provide you with this code for FREE, as well as the means of entering it. DO NOT BE SCAMMED! Note: I use AT&T. For unlocking a T-Mobile phone, they tend to be easier to obtain codes from (from what I hear). The only downside is that you must be a T-Mobile customer for a minimum of 90 days, with a history of good-standing payment. They’ve got a few other little reqs, but those are the major ones. Simply give them a call and ask. If you get a refusal, don’t take no for an answer. They (AT&T) generally aren’t supposed to give out unlock codes right away, but EVERY REPRESENTATIVE IS DIFFERENT. You may have no troubles as I did, you may spend an hour on the phone. It all depends on who you talk to, how you ask, and your history as a customer. Just make sure, no matter what, that they know that YOU know they can and do give out those codes. Just be ready with your IMEI and ask them the process of unlocking the phone, if you don’t already know. Enjoy!

is this code same for every lg shine?

  • kawapen2 says:

Nope, the IMEI is the serial number of your phone

  • csamancsa says:

the IMEI is the code to unlucked?

  • kawapen2 says:

I believe you have to have a valid SIM inserted first. Don’t quote me on that, but if you call Roger’s and get the unlock code from them, they can fill you in on the process.

    Hello.
I was wondering when you unlocked the cu720 if it removed the Java restrictions as well. If not, do you know how to?
Btw I don’t have a data cable so any methods requiring one is a no go.

Call your customer service for PUK codes. It’s really all you can do.

  • kawapen2 says:

Please don’t post your IMEI information on such a public site, if you would.

    Does this work? :P

  • ricktzer says:

by law they cannot say no to giving you the unlock code

  • kawapen2 says:

    Also: No.

  • serwisowki says:

easiest way to unlock your phone is by unlock code:

    tnij. com/unlockcodes

  • kawapen2 says:

I believe you can use that code, but each model might have a different system code. If you call Rogers you can have them walk you through the process, I’d recommend it.

  • kawapen2 says:

Whenever a manufacturer makes a phone, they slap an IMEI on it. This is basically like the Electronic Serial Numbers (ESN) that Sprint and Verizon use, which means each phone is individually labelled. Customer Service simply looks up that phone and the assigned IMEI has an unlock code for it.

You can tell them you have an old AT&T phone you want to continue to use. If they say no or ask you to submit a form, hang up and try again.

My dad has an LG shine and he cancelled his service with AT&T. I have T Mobile and my phone got ran over in a parking lot. When i call customer service what do i say because technically were not customers of AT&T anymore. Also how do they determine what unlock code to give you?

  • ramosflorentino says:

    ok thankyou, happy new year

  • kawapen2 says:

I’d like to help you, but the factory reset code is generally a model/company specific code (but sometimes can be 0000, 1234, or the last four digits of the phone number). No one can really help you with that one.

  • kawapen2 says:

You can’t transfer a GSM-based phone to a CDMA-based company like Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, or Alltel. The only exception to that would be certain CDMA phones that use a SIM card for international usage (Blackberry Storm/Tour); you can use those for AT&T or T-Mobile. They can’t complain about the phone you use, so long as it’s compatible with the network and you’re paying your bill.

  • ramosflorentino says:

Hi. I need you to make me a big favor…

please may you tell me the code of reset factory of LG-SH650?

I´m from Bolivia and i bought this phone and the model LG-SH240 from corea. know I cant find in the web the secret code and I cant play mp3 music, I’m so sad.

  • blessedrican says:

how would you go about putting the phone under verizon or another carrier wont they throw a fit

  • kawapen2 says:

If someone gives it to you for free, then there you go. :P But seriously, don’t just pay someone for it. I hate talking on the phone too, but this is barely even a five minute conversation.
