Bluetooth Audio Radio Interface
Update: The B150 headset has been replaced by the B250. I’ll show you how to build a bluetooth audio interface to your radio. This gives you hands free operation and allows you to move around the hamshack. The range is typically line of sight, about 20-30 feet depending on how many walls you are having to transmit through. This interface gives you a lot of freedom in the shack to move around, surf, solder, work on projects while on the radio. This uses a Jabra A-210 interface. This interface is made to plug into a cellphone’s headset connector to allow a bluetooth headset to work with the cellphone. It is an easy project to interface to your radio’s microphone and headphone connector. We have also found the VXI blueparrott B150 bluetooth headset to provide very good transmit audio. But the charger was missing. Does anyone know what the pinouts are? It looks like a small USB connector….is it?

i swear I saw similar unit for sale somewhere just a little while ago, surely there are different units out there
My Dell laptop had a hidden hatch with cable for BT, bought a used card for it, got one of the VXI headsets and while I work bench work on laptops and desktops and printers I can still converse with people in a Skype group – will soon be testing for ham, might be time to find the Jabra interface and have a second use for my VXI. Always the best videos Randy.
Seems like the a210 as been discontinued from jabra….

Great job Randy? I think I will try this in my shack. Do you have any solutions for “around the house” headsets? I think this would work fine in the shack, but I would love for the range to extend to downstairs through a few walls.
